My first Steemit experience!

in myfirstpost •  8 years ago  (edited)

I'm watching Steemit phenomenon for a while. I think I've found out about Steemit 3 weeks ago. Since then I'm looking at the trending pages, I'm browsing some of my favourite topics and trying to learn about it.
2 or 3 days ago I've decided to open one account. The main reason was to be able to vote for the posts I like!

For me, the Social media has never been something that I've really used. I'm that guy that is creating one account to experiment it but I don't like to expose my life in front of everybody. My friends already know that I'll rather call them and we will talk when we meet than to chat on Facebook or Twitter.

I can not explain why I was attracted by Steemit. All this buzz, all that quick movement of ideas, the remuneration system... I just don't know.

I thought at first that I will create an account and just read and vote others post, maybe comment here and there....but to post? About what? I'm not a cool guy fighting with lions, I'm not a photographer ( I do all my photos with the phone), designer, trader, musician and more that that, I don't like to publicly tell stories about me! I am the average Joe, the reader!

My life made me learn a lot about my body and at one moment I might decide to discuss here with you some of my "medical learning subjects" and maybe I will try to adapt some of the scientific passion into "human readable articles"

But I'm already laughing about what I did! Writing so much already and did not tell you nothing about my first steemit experience as a new registered user:

When I've registered, I've made a typo in my name.
I wanted the nickname adipop and by mistake I've registered adpipop.

That is my first experience! Not a pleasant one, but not such a tragedy!

I don't have any brand or something. It is just that I've missed the nickname that I've used everywhere online starting with my first Yahoo email account! I think I can live with "adpipop" too :)))

Maybe this happened for a reason: maybe this is my lucky nickname on steemit.

Another thing that happened after my first thought I had to sign up was a wave of ideas in my head about what to write...and right now, I've decided to write about anything I want, when I want because writing this post was fun!

I'm sure you understand that I am not an english native (I'm from Romania) and that this is not my introduction post.
I don't know if I will ever make one introduction post! I hate them! Is that so bad? I will write what I want, when I want just because I think now it feels good to put your thoughts in writing. Writing will help me to improve my English too!

Thank you,
adpipop :)

How can I add one picture to this post? I don't see any formating options. I've searched about that and people say that I need to have one editor but it is not showing on my page. Am I so blind to see it not?

Ha! Maybe @adpipop is lucky for you!

To put in an image just post the link to the image url. To get this from something online, just right click and open image in new tab and copy the url in that new tab.
If not online upload it to an image host site, i use imgur.com myself. From there, same steps as above.

If you have any questions, we just launched [a mentoring initiative] (https://steemit.com/steemprentice/@sykochica/steemprentice-steemit-mentoring-group-launch-announcement) earlier today.

Just goto steem.chat and join the channel #steemprentice. We're just here to help :)

Or reply here, I'll keep an eye out :)

Thank you very much!

Oh nice! I see you got the picture in, awesome! :)

Happy to help

I would expect to see inside one editor, for adding links and pictures when editing the article... I'm taking a look now at using Markdown. Thank you again!

Np. :)
There used to be one, but for me it was buggy when using buttons and html. Not sure if that's why it was removed, but yea. Lol.

Feel free to holler if any other questions come to mind :)
