MOREL MUSHROOMS >> IT'S JUST ABOUT THAT TIME OF YEAR! ... Are you a Mushroom hunter? ...

in myhuntingfishing •  6 years ago

Hi everyone .... Our family has made it a tradition of hunting the Morel mushroom every Spring. The back to nature bug has hit us all! Spring is finally almost here in Iowa and the mushroom season is about to begin. A late Spring means we will have a late season lasting into May. Always look for the dead Red Elm trees with the bark shredding off. These dead Elm trees will produce mushrooms as far as 60 feet away from the tree. Generally the same trees will produce mushrooms for several years so keep looking where you find them! These mushrooms were found by my oldest son. That's part of my mushroom stick! Been hunting mushrooms over 50 years!! Collecting old lures and fishing gear is a hobby for many a fisherman! My eBay website is listed on my home page. Thanks for viewing! Yes, Only the best wild food out there! I used to love hunting them in Missouri. Does anyone know if they grow in Colorado?

Hope to find more monsters this year!

Those are the ones you found in 2011

Great Post! I would love to learn more about mushrooms. I was never brought up hunting them so I'm only confident in a few. Thank you for sharing.
