EU take a disciplinary decision against Myanmmar Army Officer

In the meeting of the European Union (EU) foreign ministers in Brussels tomorrow, disciplinary action may be taken to ban Myanmar army officers. The meeting will start at 9 am local time (Bangladesh time 2 pm).

A Reuters report has said that if the Myanmar General's jurisdiction over the travel ban or the action taken to bail them out, it would be the EU's toughest step. The United States and Canada have announced similar sanctions on Myanmar military officers who have been involved in Rohingya persecution earlier.

According to a diplomat, the report says that what measures should be taken against Myanmar senior army officers involved in human rights violations, urging EU foreign policy chief Federico Magrini to immediately bring the proposal forward. Myanmar will be asked to look at how to strengthen the EU's arms embargo imposed from Myanmar since the 1990's.

Bangladesh is also diplomatic in keeping with the meeting of the EU Foreign Ministers. Bangladeshi embassies located in European countries, including Belgium, provide necessary assistance for this.

A high-level delegation of European Parliament has visited Bangladesh and Myanmar this month to see the situation in Rohingya situation. Leading delegation Jain Lambert said at a press conference in Dhaka on February 14, that the possibility of bringing a new proposal to the European Parliament based on the experience of visits to Bangladesh and Myanmar is more likely. At the end of this month, EU foreign ministers sat in a meeting. In order to help the foreign ministers to decide on the future funding for the refugees who have taken shelter in Rohingya refugees and refugees in Bangladesh, we will raise the issue in advance. And we will have an attempt to ratify a proposal in the European Parliament next month.

EU Ambassador to Dhaka Rensi Terengink said that the Rohingyas are being pressurized to make Myanmar responsible for the proper functioning and to create the environment.

In a letter to the International Criminal Court (ICC) against Myanmar military chief Main Sungai for crimes against humanity committed in Rakhine, hundreds of British MPs urged the country's Foreign Minister Boris Johnson to write a letter Wednesday. It has been urged by the British government to ensure that the EU takes maximum measures against Myanmar.

The letter said that despite numerous evidence, the Myanmar government and the military have denied the crimes against humanity. Besides, none of the laws against Rohingya have been changed. Two years ago (led by Aung San Suu Kyi), the current Myanmar government, which came to power, did not take any action to improve the status of Rohingya. Myanmar's military chief Mina Aunga has not taken any action against him, making him more courageous.

The British MPs said that China and Russia would oppose any kind of proposal against Myanmar in the Security Council. In such circumstances, the international community should understand these two countries, as if they (the Rohingya issue) change their position.
