Industrial parks have always fascinated me visually. I have spent many hours wandering round them taking photographs. Some years back it was something I did most weekends. These days it is something I do rarely, however I got into one on Monday where I had not been before. Not one of those modern parks with fences and neat buildings, this was an old one where there was a lot of junk and run down buildings - these are the best.
I set out from home with no clear destination. I drove for a while and then brought up google maps on my phone and found a target location. At this point my phone refused to work and froze so I drove off in the general direction where I though the industrial park may be. I turned a corner and there was an industrial wonderland right in front of me.
Monday was a public holiday here. Public holidays and Sundays are the best time as there are few people around and these areas display a character that is difficult to see when there is a lot of activity. I like looking for the odd object or building or combination of objects that are weird or could form a type of abstract photo the way they juxtaposed.
This place did not cover a large area - just a few blocks but it was old and run down and there was just so much popping up in front of me. It is rare to find somewhere like this today. most places are now very sanitary but there are some gems around, you just need to do a little exploring.
Some days I come home with no keepers this day I think i might have a few. All these shots are with my Fuji XPro1 and 23mm lens
