Once again, first picture to grab some more attention, and then lets the story begin...

As have already mentioned, the weather on Baltic is pretty often unpredictable. All the day you can have sunny nice weather, while on sunset suddenly coming stronger clouds front or even rain (and vice versa).
So yesterday was pretty cool skies all day long, but closer to sunset came more dense clouds front and I was almost thinking to skip my trip to the Curonian spit for a sunset shot, but just thought OK, lets still go have some walk (at least more health than to sit in front of PC)...

So I have took a small ferry to the Curonian Spit and then had a walk about 2km (20-25mins) to the coastline with a dunes. When came up, well, the view wasn't so much spectacular, but still with some colors and clouds formations

As per few years practice I know pretty well that LEE filters can do quite a magic grabbing the colors and also some post production improves that's a lot, so the fun began

Every time coming for landscape shoot the first is necessary to look around to see if some interesting foreground is available, like pieces of wood, some interesting sand patterns or any reflection from the waves. This time all items were in right place, so lets go...

First thing have found again the piece of nice colourful rope, which was combined with icy patterns on the sand

Some interesting snow patterns were involved as well

Then come the turn of cockle-shells and reflections from the incoming waves. By this time even the sun came a bit out from the clouds, but just perfectly not overexposing the pictures

And just after few more minutes the colors became completely insane. A true sunset for a Valentine :)
By this time have found another piece of rope looking like a spider, well, it worked even more perfect for a foreground

Funny thing, but also have managed to get a FISH :D DO YOU SEE IT? Or its mine sick fantasy only? :D

The colors still stayed damn long time, that I almost got tired to shoot. As a result came back home with about 200 unbelievable perfect frames. What a sunset, wouldn't excuse myself if stayed home being lazy to go out ;)

And here is the last frame to complete the story, I like it so much

In fact, maybe I will still make a 2nd part of this story, since too many great pictures still remained, will see

Wow. Very beautiful.Looks fabulously

cool!!!!amazing

Fantastic collection my friend! I love colours in Your photographs- very vivid, saturated but never too much burned. You can control the light and natural shadow balance very well! I love this set! Contrast with the ropes or snow patterns- simply beautiful. Congratulations.

Thanks a lot. Well, proper use of ND filters makes a difference at once, not to over-burn the skies for example.

True, since I start using them, I never go out without now. Before I was doing two shots, one to get the most from the sky, second to catch the ground, than I was merging the shots in PS, but it took a lot of time and the results were not so natural sometimes.

Great work as usual man! Love every one of them :D

Yeah, me too in fact. Was quite an issue to chose those eight out of 200... So stunning colourful calm sunset, happens not really often

&#127842 terrific & elated!

Hah, since English is not my native language even had too look what does it mean "elated" :D
Yes, you are completely right! For myself that was even too much elated :)

It wud have been great if you had been with your mate....the perfect scene....alone together ......it wud have made a perfect valentine's day.....

Photos with great composition - including the one with the snow fish. A collection to be really proud of. Great that you didn’t hesitate to go with your plan for the shoot.

Thank you very much! Yeah, was quite happy yesterdays that have overdone my laziness :D

Dope photography man

Wow. Very beautiful sunset shots.

Many thanks, appreciate

You're welcome!!

well done! great colors and composition sense

I love the snake pic... looks cute

Looks fabulously

This is wonderful photography sir. I wish to have your skill with the camera. :)

Yeah, but form other side everybody has own talent, only need to figure out which one :)

Those are incredible pictures!

They are only possible with professional cameras right? I mean, with a smartphone it would not be possible to take pics like that?

Well, you know, Full Frame sensor, high quality optics, tripod, filters, post-production.. that's all makes sense and gives impact for a higher quality. But the cameras in modern smartphones are getting better and better. Personally my opinion - it is better to take a photo with a smartphone, than to take nothing :) And it is really possible to end with pretty cool quality photo as a result (I don't hesitate to use iphone if camera is not with me)

Awesome post..I really like the color contrast in the third image ;)

Yeah very nice combination, that rope added a lot

absolutely amazing photos @axeman.

Thnx for coming :)

nice photos

Wow! What a visual treat! That must have been an amazing experience for you - such a stunning place and colours <3 Upvoted!

Not the first such kind of a sunset in my life, but but.. one of the most stunning still :)

I'm guessing it took as long to choose the photos you posted as it did to shoot them all - you must have been spoilt for choice, and if you're anything like me (and every other digital photographer I know!) there must have been an extensive haul to choose from ;)

Those are amazing shots! <3

Nice! The sunset looks very beautiful in the photos, I can only imagine how it was in person. I bet it was something really special!

Was simply UN-RE-AL :D

Awesome! Composition and quality photos! Did you do any post-production? Not to take anything away from the photography or landscape but the colors are unreal!?

Also, this is increasing my desire to visit the Baltic region!

Well, of course some post-production to make colors more vibrant. Anyhow, normally camera sensor already see colors quite more vibrant than the human eye naturally :)
Now after few years of practice I'm trying not to overdo with effects

Amazing landscape!!!

awesome....
