5 Theories About The Mysteries of Bermuda Triangle

We have all heard the stories of the mysterious Bermuda Triangle where you would only go if you had a daring heart, or at least that’s what I have been led to believe.

You would believe that too, if you had spent your nights reading about all the airplanes and ships that ‘allegedly’ went missing in the Bermuda Triangle, under mysterious circumstances, never to be seen again.

On account of all the information about such disappearances, one could say that the Bermuda Triangle really is a mysterious place ……. Or is it? Many credible sources simply dismiss any sort of paranormal/supernatural occurrences whatsoever.

But then there are people who swear that something is indeed going on there and have put forward several theories to explain all the mysterious happenings. Let’s take a look at some of these theories.

1. Space-Time Warp

Ok, let’s start with one of the craziest theories out there. It’s been suggested that due to certain conditions, there is an existence of a space-time warp in the region. This leads to the opening of a portal from time to time wherein ships and aircraft enter and get lost.

I have read about many people claiming to have gone to the 20th century and back. There is also a popular tale of a plane which made it to the time of the second world war.

One thing that is common in these accounts is the appearance of a tunnel like structure within the clouds which they claim is the portal to a different time or place or dimension.

Personally, I think that creating such a space-time portal would require immense amount of energy which I don’t think even occurs naturally on Earth. Why haven’t we seen such portals elsewhere?

2. Electromagnetic Anomalies

One thing that is notoriously common among the mystery stories is that all electronic equipments start behaving strangely and the compass needle goes all whacky.

This would suggest that there is a presence of very high electromagnetic activity in the region which interferes with all the navigation equipments leading to planes and ships getting lost.

However, no such evidence of anomalies have been found and skeptics have suggested that it might be due to the magnetic declination, which confuses navigators.

3. Methane Gas Theory

This theory was proposed by Dr. Richard McIver who is an American geochemist. According to him, there are large deposits of methane hydrates in the ocean floor.

Therefore, this leads to large amounts of methane gas release from the ocean floor which decreases the density of the water causing ships to sink suddenly and without a trace.

Since methane is highly combustible, it could also cause aircraft engines to ignite and explode which would meet the same fate as the sinking ships.

4. Extraterrestrial Activity

Aliens find their way into everything and everywhere these days and the Bermuda Triangle is no exception. Some people strongly suggest that aliens abduct the aircrafts midair into their large flying saucers and take them away.

One thing that they don’t explain though is why the affinity towards this particular region of the planet. I mean there are lots of places where things or people would be easier to abduct.

Personally, I don’t think aliens have anything to do with the alleged disappearances. It is just the result of people merging two mysteries together in hopes that one solves the other.

5. Extreme Weather Conditions

In my opinion, this explains a lot of the disappearances that have been reported over the years and is definitely a more practical explanation.

Also, the Puerto Rico trench is one of the deepest regions in the Atlantic ocean and so, the violent storms can easily sink ships and aircrafts within a short duration which would give the appearance of a sudden disappearance.

Scientists also suggest that 170 mph Air Bombs, which are severe weather phenomena that involve downdrafts caused by hexagonal clouds, could be behind much of the aircraft downing, though further investigation is being done in this matter.

Definitely aliens. No other explanation needed.

Can't tell if you are being sarcastic or not :P

You'll never know ;)

This cliffhanger is more intense that GoT ones ;)

Tough for methane to take out planes. The Transportation Safety Board or some such authority records (still going on), the missing planes, ships and people. One such report stated that a well trained pilot was flying in the triangle and just disappeared off the radar for 30 minutes, he was not in an amphibious aircraft and after he just popped up on the radar after said duration, like nothing happened.
Interestingly enough there is another triangle, the Devil's Triangle in the East with a very similar event history.
The Earth has some wild magnetic fluctuations in places, given the amount of solar particulate constantly blasting our shields I have come to believe that these 'Triangles' may act as magnetic vortexes but only when they are in alignment with some other element.
We know that each heavenly body in our solar system has a strange tendril-like connection to the Sun. It is possible that our magnetic fields are disturbed by these tendrils through regular solar rotational dynamics.
Good story so much more to this!

Yeah the Earth's weird magnetic fluctuations at many points may be behind it as well. The methane gas theory is just one theory.

I postulate that the Bermuda triangle is a lot of hype. if you were to compare the eerie disappearances you would find just as many in any other area that size. A lot of excitement for conspiracy theorists though.

Yes, this is what most people say as well. The Bermuda Triangle only appears to be special because it has high volume of ships and aircrafts going through that region which means more disappearances than other low volume places!

All plausible theories, great post!

Thank you :)

Excellent write up my friend, enjoyed every single line!

Aww, thank you man! Always appreciate the support :)

Always welcome

The explanation that makes the most sense to me is the extreme weather one.

Yes that is true and that is most probably the reason behind it.

Amazing post and so informative.

I've always been fascinated with the the Bermuda Triangle, my in laws even went to Bermuda which I was a little jealous off.

In my opinion it has to be to do with the the weather as it is so diverse and extreme and now everyone is aware of the triangle, it is even more publicised on the media

haha, your in laws actually went there? I wouldn't dare! :D

You are right. I think the weather has always been the reason behind all of this.

very nice post and amazing work

Thank you :)

Did you ever watch a document about a guy who survived the flight in Bermuda Triangle? In his opinion the Space Time Wrap exist. He was saying that he flight faster than he normally should pass this distance ... I saw this documentary really long time ago and I forgot his name but it was fascinating ! Thanks for sharing!

Yup, I have seen it. If I remember correctly, he mentioned something akin to an electronic fog. He reached his destination faster than he was supposed to and with more fuel in the plane than was supposed to.

I'll go with 5. They only one we have evidence.

Exactly. The airbomb thing is now confirmed and now the only thing to investigate are the hexagonal clouds that seem to form over that region.

Gotta be the aliens, though the methane gas theory would be insane to see. Like something out of movie

Yeah, the methane gas theory is very plausible.

nice...u deserve resteem and upvote...

Thank you :)

u r welcome..buddy

I always heard about the Bermuda Triangle but haven't known much about it. What do you think about those theories, are they real @sauravrungta?

Personally, I think it's the weather phenomena but still nothing can be said for certain.

I agree, but it can be said for certain that it sounds so cool!
By the way, I have just followed you, @sauravrungta! I think that your profile looks interesting and worth reading. You are more than welcomed to check mine as well ;-)

Thanks for the follow :) Followed you back.

Thank you so much, @sauravrungta! I hope you will enjoy my blog posts! :)

Man I grew up having some anxiety about this triangle , is that real ? @sauravrungta

Really? Yeah, it seems like it is. Though it might not be due to supernatural reasons like many suspect!

Haha! 100% real. :P

Saw them in all my school textbooks!

Maybe the Kraken lurks in those waters? That would be more exciting than number 5, which I personally believe it's the case :-)

haha who knows man!!
