Bizarre blue beam phenomena captured on camera!

Where I live in Southern Central Texas, wintry weather is pretty rare. However, last December 7th, a series of unusual weather patterns lined up to surprise much of Southern Texas with between 3 to 7 inches of snow. I arrived home from work that Thursday evening just as large snowflakes began falling. Within 2 hours or so of steady snowfall, there was snow covering everything. Since we rarely experience snow in this part of Texas, practically everyone spilled outside into the night to experience actual snow on the ground that probably would not be there the next day. In neighborhoods everywhere, people ran outside to build snowmen, make snowballs, and take pictures. My housemate and I were no exception. While I was content to just observe the beautiful scene, my housemate snapped some pics on her smartphone of snow covering the yard and vegetation around the house. A few hours later she was perusing these pics to send to friends and family when she noticed a very bizarre anomaly on some of the photos:

These were all taken in the front yard of the house. It had stopped snowing, there was nothing falling such as ice or rain, there weren’t any unusual visuals or sounds happening and nothing noticeable in the camera view on the phone at the time they were taken. We did not have any Christmas light decorations anywhere. There is a light on the corner of the house which you can see lighting a portion of the yard in some of the pics. It is much lower than these blue-looking ‘beams’ which seem to extend above the house. Below are pictures taken during the same session, but did not contain any of the ‘blue beam’ phenomena.

The phone my housemate was using to take these photos is a BLU Studio. I used to own the phone before I gave it to her when I got a new one. I used that phone for a couple of years and she has had it about that same length of time. Neither of us have ever had any experience with strange effects in any photos taken prior to this instance or any since these were taken. Crazy, right?
