Sufi; ascetic, mystical sect
Dancing as Whirling Dervish
A crown upon God's throne
Motion, a swirling wish
Using vortex as Divine prayer
Bodies floating within air
As Dervishood
Dwelling outside of id,
As One,
In brotherhood
Gowns billow as tornados whirl
Sounds of ecstatic motion as they twirl
Lifting , floating
Above the world you abide
Ancient origins of Persia
Felt hats worn with pride
Rumi whirled like the wind
Mystic poet, unmatched
Heart pure as Light transcend
Divine Love, unattached
Words whirling through eternity
Never put to rest
The Dervish Dance of ceremony
Survives a timely test.
