Anyone who knows me will tell you that I love makeup almost as much as I love Jesus. When it comes to makeup, I’ll admit there are times when I’ve gotten a little carried away, but that’s because it’s so fun to experiment with looks and color palettes. But after years of experimenting with different styles and looks, there was one specific moment that really flipped my world upside down. That moment came last year when I met a mystery woman online who revealed to me that she had been covering her face in layers of foundation, mascara, lipstick and eyeshadow for the past 20 years. This woman introduced me to the world of natural beauty and showed me how the “artificiality” of standard makeup is not nearly as natural or beautiful as the real thing. This stranger became my friend and mentor in matters of beauty―and she continues to be someone I look up to on a regular basis.
The Story of A Mystery Woman & Her Angelic Makeup Transformation
A few months ago, I noticed that someone new had joined my private Facebook group. Let me just say, it’s a very exclusive group, so this was a surprise. The woman’s name was Heidi, and she had stumbled across my page and wanted to know more about my approach to beauty and makeup. I was really surprised to learn that Heidi was not only older than me, but she was also a mom who was now looking for a new approach to beauty. I was initially a little wary of Heidi. I’m a very private person, so I don’t make friends easily. But I decided to give it a try. We started chatting, and I learned that Heidi had been wearing lots of makeup for more than 20 years. She’d been covering her face in foundation, mascara, lipstick and eyeshadow on a daily basis.
The Beauty Regime Change That Changed Everything
As Heidi and I continued to chat, she clearly wanted to make a change to a more natural and less “made up” look. But Heidi didn’t know where to begin. She had so much makeup that she wasn’t sure how to start taking it off or what to do next. I offered to help her out, and we began to swap beauty tips. In no time at all, we were spending hours each day chatting about makeup and beauty. But even though we were spending hours together, Heidi and I still hadn’t met in real life. After a few weeks, though, Heidi told me that she was moving to my neck of the woods. When she told me that her new home was less than an hour away from my own, I was really excited. I suggested that we meet in person, and so we did.
The Makeup That Changed Her Life
When Heidi and I finally met in person, I was so excited to be able to see her face up close. I had become so accustomed to chatting with her online that I hadn’t had a chance to take a good look at the real deal until that day. We spent the day chatting, laughing and getting to know each other in person. And when Heidi went to wash off her makeup, I was completely shocked to discover that she was wearing a full face of foundation, mascara, lipstick and eyeshadow. This was a complete transformation from the woman with the full face of makeup that I’d been talking to for the past few weeks. Heidi had been wearing a lot of make up for more than 20 years, and she had never met anyone who had seen her without it.
Why This Transformation is So Important
In many ways, Heidi’s makeup transformation was what the doctor ordered. She’d been dreaming of a way to let go of her old beauty regime and make a fresh start. But she just hadn’t known how to begin. I’d been longing for someone in my life who could relate to my love of makeup and beauty but who wasn’t a makeup artist or makeup blogger. The fact that Heidi and I both loved makeup almost as much as we loved Jesus was a blessing, but it also meant that we had very little in common. From the moment we met in real life, Heidi and I have become inseparable, and we’ve both learned an incredible amount from one another.
What This Means For You
When Heidi and I met, I was still wearing makeup almost every day. We were both still very much in love with beauty and the creative and artistic side of beauty. But Heidi and I had very different attitudes toward makeup. I loved to experiment with different looks and color palettes. I enjoyed playing with makeup, and I loved to try different styles. But I also loved to remove all of my makeup at the end of the day and enjoy a more natural look that could be worn with almost no makeup at all. But Heidi had a very different attitude toward makeup. She didn’t want to experiment with looks or be creative with color palettes. She wanted to put her face on and take it off as quickly and easily as possible.
Bottom line
The story of Heidi and her makeup transformation is an important one for so many reasons. First of all, it’s important because Heidi’s story offers us a glimpse into a world that many of us don’t understand. It shows us that there are women out there who feel pressured to wear makeup ― even though they don’t want to wear it. And it’s important to know that even if you don’t wear makeup, you can still be great at putting your face on and taking it off quickly and easily. Finally, it’s important to note that Heidi’s story is important because it shows us that it’s never too late to change. Heidi had been wearing makeup for more than 20 years, and she was only just able to break free from that regime. And she did so while also raising two young children.
