A Logical Quandary

I don't understand how people can believe in the miracles of Christ and of the old covenant in isolation, in other words, as somehow separate from the circumstances of our own lives and times. It seems as if our existence is as supernatural as any other situation, but that folks today are afraid of the God intruding into the here and now. Am I afraid of being the mystic devotee that I believe others to have been, or will as yet become?
