KRAKEN

Who does not know this legendary monster. Giant monsters like to destroy the ship that passes in its waters. Perhaps there are no more horrible legendary monsters than the Kraken, the ruler of the ocean that makes the sailors shudder with fear.

What Exactly Kraken is ?

The Kraken is a monster depicted as a giant creature that dwells in the oceans of Iceland and Norway. This creature is called often attacked the passing ship by rolling it up with its giant tentacles and pulling it down. The word Kraken itself comes from the word "Krake" from Scandinavian language which means to refer to an unhealthy animal or something strange. This word is still used in modern German to refer to Octopus.

In 1801, Conducted an investigation led by Pierre Denys de Montfort in St.Malo, Brittany, France to search for the existence of the Kraken, they found a painting of a giant octopus attacking a ship by rolling the ship with its tentacles. Because of the unexpected attack, the sailors aboard and then made a vow for St.Thomas that if they could escape this danger, they would travel the pilgrimage.

Because of the unexpected attack, the sailors aboard and then made a vow for St.Thomas that if they could escape this danger, they would travel the pilgrimage. Unfortunately, the events that happened to the sailors were not known exactly the year of the incident. However, at least, the attack of a giant monster against a ship can not be regarded as a myth.

Are They Realy Extinct ?

I'm not realy sure about that because there are some proof about it. In the territorial waters of Bonin Island in Japan, marine researchers managed to get rare photographs showing a spouting whale eating a giant squid estimated to have a length of 9 meters.

so this is possible if there are still other giant squid on the seabed that has not been exposed by humans.
