We have seen the experiment going on prove that the only people that matter on Steemit are the whales, and their sycophants.
Everybody is mad.
I'm mad because my $2 post had to be down voted, though I probably have the least rewards of any of you with my time in service.
I don't think the experiment cared that the dollar taken from me was a far larger percentage of my overall wealth than the $20 they took from a pawn of the whales' bot front running game.
The widow's mite, yo!
Until the bots take into account the newbies/unpopular content creators overall rewards taken from the platform as a metric if how much vote weight to attach to the downvote I will be less favorably inclined to support the experiment.
I get the idea, but the execution is lacking.
If I have only taken less than $200 from the platform in rewards, taking a dollar from me hurts me a lot more than taking a disproportionate amount from someone that has been on the whale tit for the last year.
Capisce?
And before you get all high and mighty about how much you contribute to the platform, and how excellent your content is, remember, the whales were simply setting up a money laundering scheme and you, and your content, were pawns in their game to set the bots to front run the votes from their whale accounts.
They are counting on you to raise a fuss so that they can go back to farming you.
Not because your content rocks, but because crapitalism.
If you are here, and you like to think that you are an anarchist, that you just want to help the world be a more cooperative place, remember that the dedicated anarchist left us just the other day over crapitalust control of his work, and all that is left are the crapitalusts to whom the only valuable metric is the bottom line.
Old boss, same as the new boss, get back to producing, slave.
If they can't make a buck here 'we' the 'excellent content' creators will be left hodling a bag.
Not that that is all that bad of an outcome, but it is going to be difficult for some to experience.
But,...we are on a crapitalust platform, trapped in a crapitalust world, sooooo,...what did 'we' expect?
Now just watch, someone will echo my sentiments, and make it to the trending page, while I continue to plod along trying to counter the ignore list that I feature so highly upon,....
Thanks for your time and attention to read my two cents,...
Have a perfectly peaceful day.
How to win in court for far less!!
It seems unfortunate that you are complaining about the whales having all the power, yet you are fighting the only thing that has been done so far to actually take that power away and give it to the dolphins and minnows. Over a $2 reward on one of your posts? Can't you see the bigger picture here?

Hodl up, I thought I was complaining about the folks complaining about being weaned from the whale tit.
I been calling for the whales to stop smothering the little guy with all their gems for a long time,....
Seems to me that my little tap on the hornets' nest led to the departure of our dear creator, but I could be delusional,....
My only complaint was that the little/unpopular/new were paying the same price as the folks that had grown fat on whale manna.
If anything about me should be clear to folks, it's that I am a champion of the oppressed.
It's why I back you over the witnesses ahead of you.

"Decentralized" platform is centralized. Who could've guessed? New idea, but same execution as all the other pyramid schemes.

Well, they have to practice good crapitalism and that means they have to exploit the rules for every steem they can, it's just in the nature of predators and predators prosper under crapitalism.
Maybe here we can shame them into not starving the masses to fuel their cocaine binges, and/or sycophants.
@abit, @smooth have done a good job of letting us get a taste of what whale absence looks like.

It's not perfect but I don't see another platform yet that would be better than Steem. I think "the experiment" is helping the community understand some faults so we can move towards a more equal system.

Yep, when a better one comes along I am likely to join over there.
I was on minds.com until they wouldn't admit that they had sandbagged my view count.
If they had admitted it I would spend more time there.

Never heard of minds.com. Just looking at it now. Is it also blockchain based?

No, but it is in GitHub and mostly open source.
I don't read code and haven't had many coders give me feedback on the real deal.
If you like memes, and need another source of info, they do pretty dang good at that.

That's why it's called potential payout. No one took you $2 because you did not have any to start with.
And yes content does matter, believe it or not.

Hey if we all get a portion of the pool, wouldn't 2 given from one and 2 taken from another still mean 2 was taken just twice, so once from the pool and once back in. Maybe that is why it's a Potential payout, because people can redistribute it. Still doesn't mean it's nice o see something given get taken away. The way of the world, here is a good link since I don't like trolling and I haven't done it soon, much less to you, but I have to say your comment needs some trolling, it requires it, snowflake needs some too, but I will extend you some courtesy
you can check how people "feel" do when offered on one hand to double what they have on the other to not lose what they get, they are much more cautious when they are wining and call it yeah I was given 5 so it's ok, but when they are "threatened" they act more irrationally so they are more likely to make a risk not to lose than to make a gain. I was looking for the video but I can't find it, it's a normal fallacy.

It's potential because the math sums change over time due to other votes.
If you are the only post, and get the only vote, you get all the pool, until a whale votes and then the pool goes to his benefactor and you get bupkiss.
Nice system they set up to reward themselves, huh?

I can see that content matters to a point, my content matters so little that the whales nipped me in the bud when I @schattenjager'ed them before that was a thing, tyvm.
My concern was that those fattened on whale largess, taken from us all, should pay back more to the bot than those of us that have feasted a little less.

what do you mean by "when I @schattenjager'ed them before that was a thing " also is it @schattenjaeger instead of "@ schattenjager"?

Yea, you are correct, I misspelled it.
He told the steemguild to take a hike and stop voting on him.
Whereas I called them out from their inception.
It's stinking echo chamber that feeds it's self at the expense of everybody else.
I knew from the rules they first put out that it was bs.
It only is thing because the whales backed it.

Ah. I see. Yeah, I don't think the guilds are any kind of a solution as long as they are getting paid in votes. They're more like investment firms making money off of other peoples money.

We need a solution from outside the tax and spend paradigm.
I suggest we keep working, but stop forcing folks to pay.
Then everything is free, provided you do enough work to keep up with your consumption.
Consume less, work less.
