Journey of Narendra Modi

Introduction

Narendra Damodardas Modi, who was born in 1950 in Vadnagar, Gujarat. He became the Chief Minister of Gujarat and later became the Prime Minister of India after winning in the 2014 elections.

What was Narendra Modi's early life like?

Modi was born on 17 September 1950 in Vadnagar, Gujarat. He was a member of the middle class and his family had humble origins. His father worked as a tea vendor, while his mother ran a small shop in Vadnagar’s Old City area.

Modi was educated at St Joseph High School in Ahmedabad, where he completed his matriculation examination in 1968 before enrolling for college studies at Dina Nath Batra College (now named Vadtal Vidya Mandir) where he studied political science and economics between 1969–71 and 1972–73 respectively.[6][7] He went on to get his bachelor's degree from Vishwa Jyoti University in 1973[8].

Early interest in Politics

Narendra Modi's father, Damodardas Mulchand Modi, was a tea vendor. He was born in Vadnagar, Gujarat and moved to Ahmedabad when he was a child.

He completed his schooling and college education in Ahmedabad

Joining the RSS

When you grow up in a place like Gujarat, you’re exposed to many different ideas and beliefs. But for me, the RSS was one of the organisations that provided me with a sense of belonging and purpose.

When I joined the RSS at age 15, it was my first experience of community service—I felt like I belonged somewhere! The values they taught us were really important; they gave us an understanding of what being an Indian meant. They also helped develop leadership skills that would serve me well later on in life (for example: how do we work together as a team?).

Marriage

Narendra Modi married Jashodaben Chimanlal Vyas in 1968, when he was 19 years old. She is a retired school teacher who lives in her hometown of Chavad, Gujarat. The couple have two daughters, Namita and Pankhuri—the latter born while they were still students at Harvard University.

His Political Career in the BJP

He was a member of the BJP and served as chief minister of Gujarat from 2001 to 2014. He became prime minister in 2014 and has been in office since then.

As an Organizer

Narendra Modi was a member of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). He was a pracharak, or organizer, who worked closely with the BJP in Gujarat. As a pracharak, he helped to organize rallies and other events that would help build support for the party.

In 2001, after being elected as chief minister of Gujarat for two terms and serving as its longest-serving chief minister ever at that time (he stepped down in 2014), Narendra Modi became the national president of BJP's youth wing BJYM. In this position he oversaw all aspects of youth leadership within India's largest political party at that time before becoming its prime ministerial candidate in 2014 when they won elections again after many years out of power due to corruption charges against them during previous leader Atal Bihari Vajpayee's term as head honcho

As a Party Official

As a Party Official:

Narendra Modi was the general secretary of the Gujarat unit of the BJP from 1990 to 1995. He was also its national secretary from 1995 to 2001, and then its national vice-president from 2001 to 2002.

As Chief Minister of Gujarat

As the chief minister of Gujarat, Modi was credited with turning the state’s economy around. He is also known for improving healthcare and education in the state. However, he has been criticized for his handling of the 2002 riots that took place during his tenure as Chief Minister.

He was accused of not doing enough to stop these riots from happening, which left hundreds dead or injured and hundreds more homeless.

Narendra Modi as Prime Minister of India.

Narendra Modi is the current Prime Minister of India. He has been the Prime Minister since May 2014 and is currently serving his second term as the country's head of government after being elected to that position in 2004, making him one of only four people to have served as prime minister for two consecutive terms (the others being Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi and Manmohan Singh).

He was born on 17 September 1950 in Vadnagar, Gujarat and grew up there until he moved with his family to Delhi when he was 13 years old; this change occurred because his father wanted him to pursue higher education rather than work at home as his father had hoped. After graduating from school with high grades he went on to study law at St Stephens College (University), Delhi Polytechnic School (a polytechnic institute), BHU University (Banaras Hindu University) and Harvard University Graduate School Of Business Administration where he obtained both masters' degrees while working full-time during evenings so that he could continue pursuing higher education during weekends instead:
