How often do you see 67 year old Nash parked in a Smart & Final grocery store parking lot? Well last night was my lucky night.

I was walking to work when I saw this road beast pulling out of the grocery store.

The photographs are not the best, but we are looking at a very rare Nash Airflyte from across the street. Not sure if it's an Ambassador or Statesman.

I'm @runridefly, and this car was very aerodynamic for 1950 and was the perfect car for the traveling salesman.

American Cars from the 50's and 60's are the most under-appreciated art form in the world. I yell at moneyed friends till I'm blue in the face, buy an American classic car. We'll never see anything like this again.

@business, I totally agree with you.

That is an interesting looking car - you got me checking them out online

Jay Leno has one of these and he pretended like he was going to sleep on the side of the road. Thank you for the comment

Awesome, it looks like it needs to be pulling an Airstream!!!

@cognoscere, we see the same picture in our minds. Thank you for the comment.

If I remember correctly there is a deep step down when you enter the car. I wonder what kind of gas mileage this car gets?

I'm not sure on the step, but the front seats laid back flat to make a bed for the traveler. It had good performance.
