We all know what makes a country to be a country, that is culture and history of its majority.

Recent HK riots are the consequences of lack of national identity in younger generation.
Younger generation of HK learn little Chinese history and culture in school, so they have no sense of China identity, not like their counterparts in mainland China. They don’t know what happened in this land in the past and don’t know which kind of blood flowing in their vessels. They think they are only Hongkongers, different from other part of this nation, and even much closer to westerners in culture.
From this, we know why those protesters comply with voices from US and UK. They intended to turn HK into chaos to fight Beijing government. They found many excuses, like democracy, freedom and rights as HK citizens to gain the public acceptance and support.

From now on, HK education system has to be reformed in primary, high schools and colleges and universities. It’s definitely necessary for kids to know who are the heroes in Chinese history and who lost their lives and saved this nation and achieved independence.

Without national identity, Hongkong is nothing.

National identity is a very important, but there must come a time when a society should widen it's identity in the process to be inclusive of others....
