Five police were shot and one of them killed following a noise complaint at an apartment complex in Denver. Two civilians were shot and the suspect was shot and killed by Douglas County Sheriffs. The four officers that were are in stable condition. Sheriff Zackari Parrish age 29, was killed.
Residents that were in the area at the time were ordered to shelter in place.
According to Linda Watson, hospital spokeswoman, three civilians with non-critical injuries were treated and released from Sky Ridge Medical Center in Lone Tree, Colorado.
The sheriff's office tweeted, "Any citizens in the affected are are instructed to shelter in place, avoid windows and stay away from exterior walls." An emergency shelter has also been set up for those displaced by the massive police response.
President Donald Trump tweeted his "deepest condolences to the victims of the terrible shooting in Douglas County and their families."
