The Spirea decided it was spring here too.

I was greeted today with an explosion of white flowers. They resemble tiny roses, and smell good too! The reason they look like roses, is that Spirea Douglasii in a member of the Rosaceae family...so it is a rose! It is also called steeplebush.

In a week, the whole bush will be covered with flowers, and life will be a little nicer!

When I was the kid we found that the spy Riya made the best Bose in arrows of any plant. The Bows were reliable, and the arrows we made we could straightened by hand; and they flew well...don't tell your kids, LOL!

In the past, it was used to make brooms too. They are Hardy bush I'm grow quite well in Oklahoma! They're also very pretty when they drop their flower petals, it looks like it snowed!

This is a great decorative shrub, and unless you know it's other herbal use; you won't get the full value, but it's still worthwhile!

Herbally speaking spirea is used to treat diarrhea, taken in an infusion or tea. I have not needed to try the tea, but I hear that it is mild tasting too. There are no known hazards to using Spirea, herbally speaking anyway, LOL!

So plant some, and no one else has tobknow that this pretty bush, is medicine, maybe a bow, and a broom in a pinch, LOL!

It is a relaxing time of the year for certain! Every day brings more pretties, LOL!

In Thailand I still ALWAYS use handmade brooms from local twigs & grasses. Your "LOL" reminded me that the "developed" world (I use that term very loosely!) mostly doesnt. A delightful plant & a sweet post. Thank you.

Thailand is my favories place to buy gemstones! I would love to spend a week in the gem market there.

If the liberals keep spending the way they are, Spirea Brooms may be all we will be able to afford soon.....

Spirea Is one of my favorite shrubs, they are just stunning when they bloom, and the greenery is also nice to look at.

Be Blessed!

sir smithlabs! more weeds to mow down? I see those but never smelled anything when I mow em over, I think you're making that part up just to fit in with the flower children on here.
Hey what's the deal with one measly post per day now?

Says the guy that has been gone from steemit; for a week, LOL....

This is a shrub, mine is 6 foot tall. You need to be more careful mowing!

As far as about you not smelling....

:)>

haha! so you're so busy doing real work now that you only have time for one post a day? That's good news right?
You're half retired from steemit anyway but you can always increase again if the price goes back up.

I have been busy, but YOU have been gone....

Well I have been talking a lot more on Weku, but I come back here to check on you, LOL!

Today's post on steem is $0.27 USD, the same on weku is at $0.72. USD. Either way I will be fine.

sir smithlabs! well you'll be fine because you don't need either one!
maybe that means they don't need you either.

No doubt they would both survive without either one of us, LOL!

But I do want to keep risk sharing between the two platforms.

Be Blessed my Texas friend!
