Chomped Honey Bee & Stinger
Recap from Part 1:
During breakfast the other morning, I asked the great cosmos, “What do I need to do NOW to strengthen my body and give it the support it needs to thrive?”
Within the hour I was stung on the tongue by a honey bee that had fallen into my tea mug.
Now I'm as comfortable as can be, reclining on my bed, sipping cold water with lavender to sooth my increasingly swollen tongue, contemplating what it truly means to let go of fear and to embrace faith in trusting everything will work out perfectly...
Part 2
...Staying still for any length of time can be a challenge for my mind and body. Some people may label this as ADD/ADHD. I prefer to acknowledge that my body and mind abhor stagnation.
At this moment the mind and body were both in agreement that doing their best to immobilize movement was in their combined best interest.
I went into meditation/prayer to embrace the bee venom as an answer to my call for help in understanding what was missing in my support system for a healthy and strong body. I felt deep Love and Gratitude towards the collective consciousness of the Honey Bee.
Once I felt I was able to embrace the medicine, which meant I was out of a fear based state, I silently asked “What does the Honey Bee collective have to share with me today?”
After what seemed like a very short time, I heard, “Awaken. We can help reawaken sleeping cells so that they can begin communicating collectively, as a healthy bee hive can.”
I felt, more than heard, that resting and letting the venom go into my system slowly and gently would be best.
The message showed me a missing link of support ~ sleeping cells that are out of the loop in taking responsibility for a healthy collective.
Insight is wonderful.
Being patient while the body is recovering can be a challenge.
My tongue had swollen beyond handling anything other than swallowing the cold lavender water, which was an interesting experience, and talking sounded and felt really, really weird.
I shucked some peas, and wondered how I was going to eat lunch, if at all.
I started envisioning turning a sandwich into a smoothy.
By lunch time, 3 1⁄2 hours after the sting, I was psyched to have a sandwich smoothy. My tongue was still very swollen, and I had gotten up a few times, but mostly had rested quietly.
After assembling the sandwich, I ripped it up into bits so my little stick blender could easily handle it. I added left over morning tea into the container and blended away!
For those of you interested in the vegan sandwich and bread recipe it's at the bottom of this post. I will also be making a video on Patreon adding explanations, and will post a link here when it's ready.
I may have spent almost half an hour sipping my sandwich smoothy quite happily.
After rinsing out my cup, I was heading back to bed
when I realized to my astonished surprise, that my tongue was almost normal sized!
*I was amazed, and very grateful.
From past experience I have learned that even when the body is feeling groovy after a trauma, rest is the best way to ensure a more quick and full recovery.
Even so, I felt it was important and appropriate to honor the little honey bee and her stinger. I decided to bury them in a pot that had a transplanted volunteer tomato plant in it.
After taking a moment of silence in reverence to the little honey bee who sacrificed herself to give my body the medicine it needed to answer my question, “What do I need to do NOW to strengthen my body and give it the support it needs to thrive?”
I made sure I rested between doing necessary chores that keeps our household running smoothly. I was active just enough to keep my body from going stir crazy, while giving it the rest it needed to recover from Mother Nature's intense treatment.

Vegan Homemade Sandwich
2 bread patties *
Miso spread on 1 patty
Chlorella sprinkled on miso
Onions thinly sliced
Beet slices thin, raw
Sweet potato slices thin, raw Alfalfa sprouts
Lettuce
Avocado spread on other patty Hemp protein sprinkled on avocado
Bread recipe: (these are estimates, since I have learned to embrace "winging it" and letting go of using actual recipes)
3 c organic heirloom flour
1 c fresh ground organic sesame seeds (I use a coffee grinder)
1 c fresh ground organic flax seeds
3/4 c organic chia seeds (really good at keeping the dough together) dash 4 herb organic ground mix - sage, rosemary, oregano, thyme 1ts garlic granules/powder
mix all together, add water/tea/nut milk or whatever liquid sounds good to you. About 2 -3 cups at first, and then a cup or half after that and mix until no more dry ingredients exist, and the dough is like pancake batter. The chia seeds will soak up a bunch of liquid and hold it together.
Let sit in frig. at least a couple of hours. I like to let mine sit over night. Fry in a pan with a tsp – tb coconut oil, low and slow.
Season to taste, eat immediately or save for later.
