Greetings Steem Fam!
As you know, over the past two weeks I was encouraging people to share their #ihaveanxietytoo experiences and what works for them regarding healing, working with, remedying and living with anxiety!
We had an amazing host of posts written from the @naturalmedicine community and all around Steem. Thank you to everyone who participated.
Last week I did a wrap-up post (and shared about the herbal medicine Valerian) and shared the authors of the first week’s articles. I have chosen 3 winners and they each have received 3 Steem. Here are the authors I have chosen.
@eft-now, @zen-art & @riverflows
Thank you for your wonderful contributions to destigmatizing anxiety and sharing your tips and experience!
I think many of us have learned a lot and I feel it’s always beneficial to talk about anxiety in order that those of us who experience it don’t feel so alone or so weird (cuz that can still be a thing right? Like, why do you have anxiety, anyway)- Adding to the conversation around healing, getting to the root causes and finding allies and friends along the journey is what it’s all about!
An interesting idea is that anxiety (not of the fight or flight sort that actually requires something of you, but more of the modern form of it) is perhaps a thing rooted in our times, that our culture or stressed and isolated lifestyles breed it.
That in the mix of community, we don’t feel/experience anxiety in the same way. Even physically being close to people can lessen anxiety. Hugging someone for 15 seconds or more releases so many bonding/feel good chemicals that it’s a true testament to the fact that we need each other to biologically “tick” efficiently and to thrive. That leads me to the next contest, one that I’ll be heading up through @naturalmedicine.
How Do You Creatively Support Your Mental Health?
To go a step further:
What practices help you thrive?
What are the actions and pathways you walk that help you creatively support your mental health?
There will be 2 Winners (2 Steem each) plus a full upvote and resteem from @naturalmedicine. (All of the guidelines are listed in the article linked above.)
Penelope heritage rose // be kind to yourselves!
It’s a fantastic thing to feel like we are thriving, and I think we can help each other out here. I think it’s important to not only dig into the hard things (like anxiety), but share when we are feeling great and shed light on how we get there or what helps us on our paths.
I look forward to hearing from the wisdom of the Steem Fam on this one!!
Blessings!
Mountain Jewel
This was such an important challenge and I was so glad to be part of it as I really believe it's important to share this information especially for those who might be struggling. I am going to donate my 3 Steam to natural medicine and the new contest about mental health over there so the winnings can go to somebody else who writes about their approach to mental health.
