Traditional eye drops from Korejat Flower (Star of Bethlehem)

Hi Steemian, how are you today? I hope you are healthy and creative to work.
In our lives, we always hope to be healthy. for that we have to look after it well. that's why there is a saying "prevention is better than cure."
For that it would be better if you know a variety of drugs that exist in nature. That way we will always be able to find medicine if it hurts.
Luckily, our family is accustomed to using traditional medicine. The ancestors inherited traditional medicine. We believe that nature has provided natural medicine.

Eye Shore

Have you ever had an eye problem and then treated with traditional medicine? Blurry or unclear vision?
If you want to treat with traditional medicine, use this plant. We are accustomed to using it as eye drops.
Local names: Kerojat flowers, Kitolod, Kendali, sangobak, Lidah payau (mean brackish tongue -Malaysia)
Latin name: Laurentia longiflora, Polygala paniculata L.
Plants from class Campanulaceae are classified as shrubs and grow wild around the house, even found on the edge of the gutter and the edge of the highway. At first glance people will think this is just a weed that must be removed. However, we must know that this plant has enormous properties. My family and I are familiar with plants from the genus Hipobroma which can be used to treat eye pain and also to prevent it.
Plants that can reach a height of 50 centimeters are white flowers and elongated and jagged leaf shape beside it.

How to use it

As an eye shore medicine, this plant is taken flower.
My grandmother said we should take flowers in the morning while still dewy. Dew on the flower that is used for eye drops.
Some people make it as Eye drops too. Take 3 washed flowers then wash them in a glass of clean water, and the water is ready to be used as natural eye drops.
I agree with my mother too keep medicine safely. Soak in hot water to prevent flowers from germ contamination. After cold, use for eye drops.
It's easy! The water drops of this flower do indeed feel poignant, but when they are used, the taste is not too painful or even ordinary, but the most important thing is the efficacy is very effective. Eyes will return clean and see clearer.
In order to avoid side effects that are harmful to the eyes, do not use eye drops too often from the water soaking Star of Bethlehem flowers. If your goal is to use Star of Bethlehem flowers to treat farsightedness, cataracts, minus eye or other eye diseases, then the recommended dose is a maximum of 2 times a day. If the goal is to clean the eyes, remove dirt and treat vision, the use of eye drops Star of Bethlehem 1-2 times a month is enough. If irritation occurs the first time you use the Star of Bethlehem flower eye drops, you should not use it again.

Poisoning

I have a sad story about this Star of Bethlehem plant. The green color makes me want to try cooking it. With the seasoning that I prepared, I cooked this Star of Bethlehem leafy vegetable.
I eat rice and side dishes with homemade vegetables. But 2 hours later my stomach felt nauseous and vomiting. I threw up for almost three hours and could no longer get anything out.
After my stomach is clean I can be healthy again. Then in the morning I searched for information from the internet and finally learned that the sap on the Star of Bethlehem contained poison. That's why uncontrolled use can also cause side effects.
That is the story I shared about the story and the benefits of the Star of Bethlehem.

Always good to read and study the poison plants BEFORE we cook and eat them!! Glad you survived that little adventure.

I have Star of Bethlehem growing around our house here in Thailand - I will do some reading and find out how the local Thai people use it.
