My Favourite Home Remedy Is That Which My Body Provides!

We are blessed by all the amazing medicinal plants that nature provides for us. I treat my whole family with natural remedies and have done for years. My children have never been to see a doctor, never had any antibiotics or medication of any sort enter their blood stream and they are all super healthy and strong. My way on this earth is to live naturally and I am able to do that because of the abundance that nature provides.

I use medicinal herbs and homoeopathy if I feel treatment is necessary, but most things clear up naturally. It is so important that our childrens immune systems are allowed to develop naturally. Our bodies are amazing and are more than capable of healing themselves once they are allowed to do so, nature provides us with everything we need to assist in that process if the need arises.

But today I am not going to be talking about plants. Instead I am going to talk about the amazing healing properties of Breastmilk. As A woman, our female bodies are perfectly adapted to feed our babies and the composition of milk that we produce changes as our children grow. Meeting all of their needs, at every milestone. That in itself is pretty amazing. But I am not here to sing the praises of breast feeding, and yes there are so many, I will leave that for another day. Instead I wish to talk about the benefits of breast milk as a home remedy.

Yes I am one of those mothers who will be heard saying, ' just put some breast milk on it'. I have huge faith in our bodies ability to heal and that is especially true when it comes to breast milk. It is pure liquid gold, containing natural antibodies, as well having anti-infective, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory properties. It is so much more than food. I have used it successful for ear infections and eye infections i.e conjunctivitis. It does help that I can hand express, I would usually put 1-2 drops of breast milk in the ear and allow it to work it's wonders. My eldest daughter really suffered with ear infections for a while and this always worked. She no longer suffers anymore.

For eye infections or conjunctivitis, I put some milk onto to some organic cotton wool, allow it to soak in and then gently wipe the babies eyes from the inside to the outside. This has always worked for me and the infection would clear up quickly. It is quite normal for babies to get eye infections, it is their bodies way of getting rid of pollutants from the body.

I live in a hot country and my girls get cuts a lot and so do I and it is always hard to keep the area clean as we are outside most of the time. Because of the heat the cuts can easily become infected, at the first sign of infection I will put breast milk on the cut and 9 times out of 10 that will be the end of it. The antibodies found in breast milk form a sort of liquid shield, preventing germs and harmful bacteria from festering on wounds or injuries. I also use breast milk for burns, it is soothing and it is a great disinfectant and really does help to heal, when it is put on straight away you will find that their is no blistering. It is best to express milk into a bowl or plate and allow the burn to rest in the milk.

I have also used breast milk successful for dry skin and I have always used it to treat sore nipples after feeding. I have always advised mothers to use breast milk for any sort or rash on their babies, especially nappy rash. My girls were not always in nappies so they never suffered from nappy rash, although I do know that nappy rash can also be linked to teething. In my research about the amazing properties of breast milk, I have found a wealth of information on some of the other benefits that it provides. One of them that really blew me away was a study done in 2010 which claims that A Substance in breast milk kills cancer cells, known as HAMLET (Human Alpha-lactalbumin Made LEthal to Tumour cells).

As well as the above information, a few months ago a friend of mine sent me a link to a website and on it was a photo of Breast Milk Repelling Harmful Bacteria, which you can see below.

The photo, posted by a biology student in England, features nine Petri dishes completely colonized with the bacteria M. Luteus, except in the center, where tiny puddles of breast milk have created what looks like “moats” of protection around themselves.
The student, Vicky Green, said she had similar results with Petri dishes full of e.Coli and the dreaded anti-biotic resistant “super bug” MRSA.

I also read a lot about how breast milk is also a great remedy for acne and I found an great blog that a woman wrote providing great photos about her journey using breast milk to help treat her acne. I would normally link acne to diet,
however after 5 days applying breast milk to her face and leaving it for a few minutes, her acne cleared up. You can check out her blog here.

There is no denying the magical properties of breast milk and as I am currently still feeding my daughter I always have it to hand. On top of that is the fact that it is my own body that is producing it. Producing this liquid gold which nourishes, heals and protects. It is my body that provides both mine and my childrens healing. Because of this it is my No.1 Natural Home Remedy.

This is extraordinary!!!! I know its amazing stuff but i didnt know you could use it for all sorts of other things!!! Mindblown.... I wonder if our ancient mamas knew this and used breast milk as a home remedy?

thank you lovely, I have no doubt that this is what our ancestors done, it is an intuitive practice and our bodies really do provide so much for us, how lucky we are xxx

Love it and thank you for sharing how important it is for the woman to breastfeed their babies, since a lot of mothers don't breastfeed which is very, very sad but I think it's mostly because of lack of knowledge about it.
I breastfeed my two boys and I wouldn't have it any other way, and I knew how great it is for the babies and for the mothers too, but didn't know all the benefits you shared for home remedies.

thank you @joalvarez, it is amazing the many benefits of breast milk xxx

Breast is best! This is a brilliant post @trucklife-family and what a great contribution to #naturalmedicine. My husband keeps encouraging me about natural child rearing. And with the latest NM challenge I've been wracking my brains. I love your liquid gold post. And what an adorable tree of life

it sure is @buckaroo, natural child rearing is the way forward and the best gift we can give our children, I look forward to reading your posts xxx

It is a gift to our children!

This is really an amazing post! I think it’s amazing that your kids have never had any antibiotics. I’m thankful mine have only had a few over the counter medicines and we try our best not to even give them those.

I have seen the wonders of breastmilk. We have used it for eye infections too and it works wonders! Our bodies are a beautiful blessing and as you said it provides everything we need :)

thank you @crosheille, I hope all is well with you and your beautiful baby, thank you for your support xx

Always ~ 💗🤗

Baby and I are great!! I hope you and your girls are doing well~

Wow! I never knew there so many uses for breast milk! I was unfortunate that I didn't produce milk when I had my son. I tried to feed him for 3 days unsuccessfully so we had to change to the bottle, it was heartbreaking as I had read so much about how many health benefits it had for both myself and my son. ah well, he is 13 now and I very much doubt I will be having any more children lol
Thank you for your post! xxx

thank you @beautifulbullies, we all do the best that we can at any given time and you are an awesome mum, your boy is very lucky to have you xxx

I’d bet the health of the human source affects the medicinal benefit of the milk. Very interesting stuff

of course, I probably should have said that, thank you @ceattlestretch xx

All our probiotics start with the mother, makes a lot of sense

Great post. We used my wife’s breast milk for our son when he got conjunctivitis and it cleared it up really fast! It’s an unbelievable product that needs to be recognized everywhere.

thank you @cmplxty it really is golden xx

Makes so much sense and something I, too, always did when I was nursing. After I weaned my daughter at 2.5 years, I started licking things instead. Works for most everything! :) Ploi, my daughter, can often be heard wailing, "No! not the mama spit!" Haha... but she concedes it DOES work and soothe and heal. Must be the mama love flowing from us in so many ways.. :) Great post.

Thank you @artemislives and yes it most definitely has a lot to do with mama love xxx

Breastmilk is an amazing thing, in so many ways and for so many uses! I'm glad I had the experience of nursing my twins for two years, and giving them mother nature's nourishment.

Awesome post - first rate info, and I completely agree.

Not having kids of my own, I don't have a ready source of breast milk at hand, but have used raw goat milk in many of the same ways, which is also very effective.

Similarly, one of the very best remedies for burns, especially serious burns, is raw albumin, aka egg white. I had a friend who was badly burned when radiator blew up in his face, and thanks to a quick-thinking paramedic, who asked his wife for all the raw eggs in the house, he not only healed completely, but had no scarring. Zero. Amazing stuff.
