Lechwe (Kobus leche), also known as Red Lechwe or Southern Lechwe is a species of antelope native to the wetlands (marshes, swamps, floodplains) of South-Central Africa.
One of the most interesting thing about them is the beauty of the males. They have long, heavily rigged, spiral-structured horns that can grow up to 90cm and is used for defense and offense. They also use it as a back scratcher. Lol Females do not have horns. Lechwe have an unusual widely splayed, elongated hooves adapted to walking and running on wetland areas. Their coat is also greasy and is able to repel water.
