Hanging the washing

So I was doing our washing the last day and it came time for us to hang the washing and take advantage of some early autumnal sun. My son was with me, helping me by handing up the items as I went.

I went to peg a shirt and what did I find only these two beautiful creatures.

The apple doesn't fall far from the tree

I've always loved ladybirds and I guess it runs in the family, as my son loves them as well. Here he is beeming with pride with his new pets.

They took flight

Eventually they got fed up with all the staring and took flight. They landed near by though and I managed to get a couple of cool close ups..

You almost forget sometimes that these little guys have wings, and when they suddenly take off, the old ticker can skip a beat. My 5 year old jumped a mile in the air when they took flight!

So there you have it, ladybirds in my clothespegs... Almost sounds like an alternative rock band name or Album title...

I guess this qualifies for Red Monday as well, which I havnt done in ages...
