Then I will follow you, my friend. I am very interested in the topic and eager to find all the uses for the plant. BUt I haven't found much downsides to bamboo so far. Monocultures? Viscosis processing? Even if these might have an impact on the ecological footprint it seems to be much smaller than with most other plants and woods.

You can take nitrogen fixing crops as intercrops in bamboo for first 3 years... First 3 years there wont be much revenue. From 4 th year revenue will start from bamboo. Somebody frm western country has started replacing bamboo as building material. Instead of bricks, cement , sand what he has done is he made a compact structure of bamboo which interlocks . So u can make a wall, ceiling or any structure. World is running out of sand and many other resources. Bamboo is future in contruction of homes.

From our sites in India.

And in the second picture, waht exactly is being done there? Isn't that kind of machine used to destroy the roots of the bamboo? What for?

What happens bamboo plants sheds lot of leaves and around more than 5 tons of biomass falls on ground in 1 acre. So in summers there is chance of catching fire. That equipment attached to tractor is not a deep cultivator. It only mixes top soil with biomass so that the the dry biomass does nt catch fire.

thank you for making that clear!

thats awesome, do you know the name of that building material?

There many varieties in bamboo. What we are using in India for commercial production is balcoa bambusa bamboo which has good commercial acceptance..
