Hello friends of steemit, today I want to share with you one of the many wonders that exist in my country, Venezuela.

Sima Humboldt Cave or also known as Sima Mayor.

It is located on the summit of the Sarisariñama tepuy plateau, part of the Jaua-Sarisariñama National Park in Bolívar State, in Venezuela. The means of transport used to reach it is the helicopter and curiara, since the nearest road is hundreds of kilometers away. Although this is not a place open to the public, its space is only used for research work.

It was descended for the first time in 1974 and thoroughly explored two years later in 1976, its surface is 18 million cubic meters, its maximum width at its upper edge is 352 meters and 502 meters deep, that's why it is considered the deepest hole in the earth.

There is no knowledge of how these mysterious gaps were formed. One of the most scientifically supported causes is that they are of water origin: that is, they are formed as a result of erosion caused by underground rivers that crossed the Tepuy, which caused landslides in specific places on the plateau.

¿And you, you already knew him?
