Beautiful pictures. Looks like you have been with that Elephant so closely!

We were actually quite close

Beautifull elefant and

Thank you

We think that elephants are majestic creatures and so they are. I went on a photo safari in South Africa in the days I was on press trips, and visited both Kruger National Park and the then fashionable Mala Mala. Both were memorable trips and getting as close to the elephant as your photos show, was an inspiration and I was in awe. Thank you for the photos. Great.

I don't think a photo could ever do justice to how great these animals really are, being so up close with them is really a blessing! Where in the Kruger did you go? Mala Mala sure is stunning!

You are perfectly correct! Such a gracious beast is so monumental up close it's awe inspiring. Mala Mala was stunning and we had very good guides. At Kruger I couldn't tell you where we went but we saw a lot of animals up close. I may do a small piece so I can show off snaps. I am not a photographer, I just snap opportunistically, but you'd get the message. Loved your pictures. Will follow so I can see where your next trip is! Happy Steeming!

Great, Well I actually live in limpopo, so most of my pictures are local... :D

Lucky old you! So you can go out on a photo safari whenever... I remember when we went out in a jeep with the tracker and guide, we were told to stay seated as the animals were used to visitors within the national park, but it was best not to draw attention to oneself. The odd thing is that I am never scared of any animal because I find them fascinating. Once on holiday in Greece I was gathering the plates after lunch and i looked up and saw what appeared to be a hosepipe in the Mulberry trees. It turned out it was a huge snake (around a metre long) I had to send the girls on the balcony fast so they all scurried to the balcony. One heard the word "snake" and locked herself in the house! I called another friend who thinks the way i do and we watched, awestruck as this huge snake meandered through the mulberry to the low wall, and slid down and away. As I was told it was never seen again. It was probably not poisonous anyway, and only the smaller ones are. I just loved it and still have a photo I took of it's descent, just as it flapped with a loud flop against the wire fence of over the garden gate.

Pretty much, well I live on a farm and living close to nature is a way of life. WOW, that is a cool experience - last year we had a 1.3 m deadly mamba coming out of roof through the manhole into the house, it was an interesting day.

You should have photographed it! I managed to and in one of my posts I may use it as it is different. Enjoy your farm, enjoy Steemit.

haha it was more of a life and death than a camera moment...
