What to do when nature strikes!

This weekend as I was enjoying a nice weekend with my family, we had an unexpected run in with nature.

What kind of nature you might ask?

Well, it be the winged kind!

The Situation:

You see, as a family member was opening the door to go home on Saturday night, a bird that had decided to make it's home in the wreath on the door shot inside the house.

Quickly shrieks and gasps were heard all through the house and adults and kids alike ran for cover as the stressed out bird flew crazily about, looking for anywhere safe to land.

Knowing that time was of the essence, I sprang into gear, doing my best to scare the animal back towards the door.

The beast would have none of it.

After minutes of this, I knew was must be done.

I would have to capture this winged beast and take him back outside myself.

I gathered up my courage and decided the second level of the house was my best opportunity to capture him.

I grabbed a blanket and waited for the others to scare him up to me.

When he darted up the stairs, I quickly threw the blanket on top of him and then jumped on it to make sure he wouldn't escape.

After securing the animal under the blanket I quickly made my way down the stairs and back outside and let the bird loose.

After that, I made my back inside to a hero's welcome.

All in a day's work in the life of a beast hunter. ;)

A picture of the beast in case anyone is curious:

Don't let his small stature fool you, he was a beast.(edited)

Hi bright ideas that is a very cute little bird in your photo. Thanks for sharing with me.
Have a nice day.

Nice.
Talk about a beast. Sometime ago a cat sneaked in as we were bringing in groceries and he was a wild beast and went to racing up and down the curtains. It was total pandemonium with three people either running for their escape or trying to shoo the cat out the door.
It was a wild time but eventually the wild cat made its escape and we were happy for it and us.

Looks so awesome! thanks for sharing! i will start following your exciting posts! Checkout my posts as well

An open door and they always find their way out sooner or later. Had that issue with a bat once.

aww.. he just wanted to hang out. hahah. Little rascal :)

Cute little sparrow :-D It is, isn't it? :-D

Haha brave man to the rescue! We had this happen at my brothers house one time with a bat that came in through the chimney. My brother screamed like a girl, it was hilarious. Eventually we threw a sheet over the little critter and took him outside.

Good story, thanks for sharing!
