The Ecuadorian Orb Weavers (Argiope aurantia species), are silver and gold, although they are called Golden Orb Weaver spiders. They like to make their spiral webs around San Pedro and Prickly Pear Cacti. This one is about 2 inches in length and is living in my garden.
