The spotted lake - Canada

in nature •  7 years ago

Hello all, I wanted to share with you these stunning pictures of the spotted lake in Canada. Sadly I didn't take them myself - anyone who knows me will know that I have the artistic ability of a four year old. In other words, if I'd taken this picture, It would most probably be blurry and I'd have missed the lake completely.

This is an absolutely stunning tourist attraction, which I'd love to go and visit one day. I don't believe you can actually swim in the lake due to the fact that it's on private property, but it would still be an incredible sight to see. According to google, the lake is, ' a saline endorheic alkali lake.' Anyone have a clue what that means?

If we take a closer look, you can see that the, 'spots,' on the lake almost look like stepping stones. I don't think you'd want to try standing on one however! It's almost like something out of a movie - it could be the home to fairies or elves. My question for you all: Has anyone visited this lake or any other extraordinary places in the world? Because if you have, I'd love to hear about your experiences in the comments below.

Very cool. Is it real?

I believe it is!

Incredible!! Saline and alkali, I believe means salt and alkali. I have not been there but it would be interesting to see. I don't think you would want to swim in it because of the alkali and salt would make it really harsh on the skin.

I know, it would still be an amazing thing just to see!

Great pictures!

The Spotted Lake in BC, Canada is pretty interesting. I was there last year:
