What do we think about when someone says the word “paradise”?
Usually most people would start to imagine beautiful beaches with white clean sand, all surrounded by palm trees. In fact, this is the most common view of the paradise (just google “paradise” and images) because many years the pop culture and media made us believe in that to be able to sell us those luxurious tickets to Bahamas and Hawaii. But besides that being one of the reason, what if that what paradise might look like. Paradise over all means the place of harmony, and that peace usually can be found on islands or high in the mountains, or both. It’s not just the water and sand that make us a paradise, but those long and glorious palm trees of different shapes and kinds. There are everywhere where people would call that area magical and vacation worthy. Here’s why:
Palm trees grow where the most pleasant places for vacation are locater. According to Trivago on the article for best places to visit, 13 out of 25 of those locations are islands or countries where different kinds of palm trees grow (https://www.tripadvisor.com/TravelersChoice-Destinations-cTop-g1). It makes up a half of all other places in the world. Such trees give the location the most unique and relaxing feeling. Bali or Hawaii would not give the same feeling without them. Some of them provide us with the most exotic food and drink as coconut, which is like the cure for everything nowadays.
I can say that even based on my own thoughts, when I see palm trees, or when I’m surrounded by them, I feel some kind of joy. I’m fascinated by how tall they are and how different they are from one another. They give me the right feeling of summer and comfort. I lived more than a half of my live in the country where I have never seen those trees in real life. They just don’t survive in the cold climate. And after I moved to Southern California, I could not believe how unique palm trees are. In fact, palm trees were not a very native tree for such landscape. There were only one kind of them here, and the rest were brought and grown by natives and new settlers. But now no one can imagine LA or San Diego without those magnificent trees that are taller than houses. They swing above everyone and everything.
What’s your representation of paradise? What factor of “paradise” makes up that view?
