Living in Florida and Hurricane Irma

Hurricane Irma has shifted to the west side of Florida for now. Which is better for the people that live on the east side of the state I guess. But I happen to live on the West side of the state.

I went to get cash in case I need it today and stopped in to the Dollar Tree to get some headache medicine and the shelves were just about empty. In my looking for my headache medicine I found a bunch of glow sticks (The prepper in me could't resist them) so I grabbed a few packs. And someone asked me if I shouldn't be buying hurricane supplies instead of toys. My answer to them was they are hurrican supplies. Do you see any flash light or batteries on the shelves? I glow sticks also are a light source. Anyways the person had a cart full of stuff of things which I already had at home. Some people don't think things have more than 1 use.

Then I went over to the grocery store which had a bunch of empty shelves also.(Dollar Tree was out of TP and I was almost out of it at home.) Found my needed TP was going to cost me $5.00 for 4 rolls. The price of most items was more than when I went shopping last week. People were panicing because they were looking for things that were out of stock and worried what they were going to do without what they wanted.

The point of all this is if you are preparred you are not out shopping for thing you need 2 days before a level 4 hurricane is going to hit you. There is no gas station with gasoline,no bottled water and the grocery stores shelves are empty of the food that can help you and your family in times like these. The prices are higher in most stores now than before. Don't wait get your self prepared before you need it.

No I am not evacuating my son has to work so I'm bunkering down.
