Nature versus nurture is a conceptual paradigm which exists for all forms of existence. It has been observed in individual human beings and ranges across working culture in an organisation. Fact of the matter is it has been an important proponent in defining reaction to particular scenarios. Nurture is the environment and norms of surrounding within a system, under which the individual resides. Nature is the inherent personality of an individual or a group of similar individuals.
A person raised in a different environment might not have been subjected to situations determining reaction from his / her nature. But, in spite of being involved in a different environment, the reactions are always predictable under situations complementing their nature. If we move beyond individuals, we observe the same trend for organisations. The use of TPS (Toyota Production System) has been employed by different organisations to emulate their success in different geographies, but have not yielded the required benefits. Japanese with a high level of work ethic and discipline are able to achieve the success on regular basis with continuous improvement. On the other hand workers from other geographies are imposed to a culture not suitable for their inherent nature. Different organisations have their unique core strengths that define the areas in which they are most likely to succeed. So, it seems like stereotypes are true in some sense and places nature over nurture.
