I suppose that title should say "Portraits of THE Grand Canyon". Though massive gorges do exist around the globe, few compare to the Grand Canyon of Arizona. I've posted a few photos from our trip there over the past two years, but to be honest, I'm really on a kick with this Lightroom software that I posted about yesterday. I'm going back through my archives and seeing what kind of cool photos have bee hiding in plain sight for years... all it took was some re-editing!
^^^I always start with my favorites of the group, and this is it for today. This photo was taken along the southeast rim at dusk. Less than an hour later, we were treated to on of the most amazing sunsets Kylene and I ever saw. BUT, the setting sun made for some neat highlighting of the cliffs at this moment.
^^^Along the southern rim earlier that same day. The looming cumulonimbus clouds that stretched into the distance were nearly rivaling the canyon in scale and majesty.
^^^This was taken only a few hundred yards from the last one, but I liked the bit of interest in the foreground. The little bush to the right, the light colored bedrock at the bottom, and the dead tree to the left. I love including dead trees into photos any time I have the opportunity to do so.

LOVE IT! That lightroom program sounds great and like good fun. I visited the grand canyon about 8-9 years ago and it was just amazing. The beautiful vastness is hard to take in. It was so cool, I have a really good memory of driving away, looking in my rear view mirror of the sun setting over the canyon and just knew its not everyday you have views like this so remember it! haha!
Great and stunning photos, awesome to see!

I feel EVERYONE should visit the Grand Canyon at some point. It's humbling. It sort of puts you in your place as a small speck on the giant marble that is Earth.
It's interesting that you also had an awesome sunset experience there. The canyon itself must really add to the sunset in some way. Like I said, our favorite sunset to date was there. OOOooo! I need to get some of those photos into Lightroom and see what happens!
