Otis is a small lake community in the Berkshire Mountains of Massachusetts. Its home to numerous small ponds and a large resevoir. Its also home to a supportive snowmobile community.
The S.A.M. (Snowmobile Association of Mass) trail system runs through town, and across the Otis Resevoir.
The trail system also makes use of local camp ground roads, powerline clearings, and pipelines. Theres also two state forests that are used for the trail system.
The Otis State Forest, and Tolland State Forest add large land areas for the trail system. Several groomers, funded by the local snowmobile club, the Knoxtrail Riders, keep the trails in pretty good shape as soon as the conditions are right.
