Unknown World / Wild, wild bees!

Osmia cornuta.JPG

The wild bee Osmia cornuta feeding on a plum tree blossom. A 1000 of them are more efficient on pollinating fruit-trees than an entire colony of honeybees! Most of the wild bees life solitary and not in colonies, but they are even more in danger of extinction! They are strongly threatened by the widespread use of pesticides and the loss of their natural habitat. I hope I can create a little bit awareness with my pictures. Stay tuned for more to come
