The pied wagtail is a dapper looking bird with its bright colour and long wagging tail.
You often see these birds in open areas such as car parks and school playgrounds. These birds are unmistakable with their wagging tail on each step they take.
Mainly native the Britain although you can find the white wagtail in Holland and France. These birds breed mainly in Britain.

There is also the yellow wagtail which is the same family as the pied wagtail but less often seen
Wagtails are insectivorous. They will catch insects in flight or on the ground. Butin the depths of winter they will eat bread and seed.
Main nest sites are holes in trees or in log piles but they have been found nesting in strange places not unlike the blackbird
