I had some hedgeapples (also known as Osage Oranges) on my porch this fall for decoration and some lucky squirrels found them and feasted on the tasty seeds inside. The seeds are edible by humans also and taste like sunflower seeds, but they are so difficult to extract from the sticky, fibrous, pineapple-like fruit inside, they are really only worth the time and effort of squirrels.
