Rainy Day In Ireland

Raindrops on Barbed Wire

Leaping from the car in a brief period between showers, I was able to capture this beautiful Irish landscape, before the heavens opened again.

I love the view across the bay through the barbed wire and raindrops. If you expand the photo you'll see all the drops on the grass as well.

Not bad for a shot with a phone, with only a couple of seconds to line it up! 😁

I have never been to Ireland but have a friend there and it's on my to go places this summer /spring.

It really is a beautiful place @ultravioletmag. You won't be disappointed. Not just the scenery but the pubs and little towns are fun too.

If you can find a pub where the locals turn up for an "impromptu" singsong don't miss the chance! 😊

I can't wait to revisit.

Love the contrast of the lake through the wire. And thank you for saying to see it full screen, I wouldn't have known to click on it otherwise.
I've always wanted to visit Ireland, but only managed to visit the inside of Dublin airport so far when going back to England to visit LOL

Definitely add Ireland to your itinerary if you're ever back this way @beckymeep.
Trouble is there is so much to see. You need to make it a long trip! 😁

Ireland and Scotland have been on my, ever growing, list for a while. I kick myself now for not visiting them both when I lived in England. Oh well another good reason to visit home, and somewhere along the way!

Sounds like it @beckmeep. You could treat it like an adventure and pretend you're a first time visitor. That would be fun! 😊
Do you have any particular "somewhere along the way" place in mind?

I've always wanted to hike the Scottish Moor's, to be honest. Even as cold as it would be, its soo eerily beautiful, with the clouds rolling over head. Or that's how I imagine it. I have wanted to see Edinburgh's Castle for years and years now, I've heard its an amazing place to spend New Years Eve.
But anywhere new to explore is good for me.

The West Coast of Scotland and the Isles are beautiful too @beckymeep.
You'll get there one day I'm sure. 😊

I hope so! :)

Stunning picture indeed so simple and profound all at once. :-)

Thank you @nexus0711. I appreciate you stopping by! 😊

Nice capture, I've been twice to Ireland and would love to go again and make it a hat-trick!!!

I would love to return too. I've only seen a very small bit of the West Coast so far.
Daft really as it's so close but it's more a question of time then anything. We don't actually have many weekends free so, although I think we could just nip over for a few days, it's not as easy as I would like to think. 😊

The barbed wire is definitely a different touch to it! I hear you get a lot of rainy days in Ireland.

Yep. Plenty of rain in Ireland @snrm. The weather comes in from the Atlantic.
But the up side is it's very green! 😊

Beautiful photo. reluctant dropshipper that made me laugh.

I wish I could say it made me laugh @girlbeforemirror but most of the time it's draining. I am extricating myself from the business though and soon I will be free. Hoorah! 😊

I actually thought about it after I wrote it and wondered if my comments may be insensitive. It is hard to know in text. It definitely sounds like a stressful undertaking.

Not insensitive at all @girlbeforemirror. You made me smile! And I agree, it can be hard to know in text. I often find that comments I make are taken seriously when I was joking. Partly the British sense of humour too I think! 😊
I really appreciate your commenting, especially as it seems so quiet around here lately! Are you finding the same? 😊

Yes it is different. I have ridden a few steem dips. It gets quiet when it drops unfortunately.

Lovely shot Gillian. Where is this in Ireland? My mother came from Co. Mayo.

Thanks @redheadpei. It was in Co. Cork. 😊

A great landscape shot. You managed to capture this natural phenomenon on the verge. Thank You @gillianpearce

Thank you @madlenfox. 😊

Stunning photograph!

Thank you @shanibeer. 😊
