Junonia coenia
This butterfly is pretty common across the United States. This particular one was pretty tattered. I rarely get butterflies to hold still long enough for photos.
I took these in my mother's garden. She grows a large butterfly bush, which is not native and typically does not provide good nutrients for our native butterflies, sadly.
