Bryce National Park is one of the crown jewels of America's National Park System. Its an amazing amphitheater which is known for its "hoo-doos" which are tall pillars formed by frost and erosion. It gets much fewer visitors annually than Zion or Grand Canyon but is very distinct in the red, orange, and white sediment layers which have eroded away to form massive bridges, pillars, and ridges.

Here is my wife photographing one of the large natural bridges inside Bryce Canyon.

The amphitheater is relatively small and we could hike the entire area in a full day of 12 miles.

The paths just go on for miles but around each corner is another huge feature and mindblowing reminder of the power of time and water.

There are several areas which are switch-back to get you to another level of the canyon.

Don't forget to take a great camera.

Bryce is one of my favorite National Parks. It is the only place the hoo-doos are so recognizable.

If you ever get to southern Utah, make sure you visit this National Park. Its only about 2 hours from Zion.
