I ran across a picture of a blue tarantula and decided to look it up. What I learned is that this Brazilian blue tarantula was discovered in 2012, and is already considered endangered due to loss of habitat and over collecting for the pet trade.
Makes my heart a little sad that beautiful things like this exist and may be gone before we could find a way to save them.
