This was the 2nd puffball that I saw growing in the path and I took a picture of it. I looked it up and I couldn't find an exact match but I'm pretty sure it's a Handkea excipuliformis, better known as the puffball. The stem appears the same but the top on this one isn't round like others. It says they are edible when their young and white, but without knowing for sure I wouldn't recommend eating it unless your 100% for sure. I'll put a link below so you can research it.
