Busiek Wilderness Area: Morning Hike

Busiek Wilderness is an excellent park that lies about halfway between Springfield Missouri and Branson, with 2700 acres and 18 miles of established trails. It is far enough out of town to really have that wilderness feel, but only about a 20 minute drive from the city.

The park is fairly heavily trafficked on the weekends especially in the spring and summer, but on weekdays and in the morning you practically have the place to yourself. It is one of my favorite places to go when I have an afternoon to kill and an itch for the woods.

I know it's hard to wake up that early, but there is something special about this misty morning hikes. What do you think? Sound off in the comments, and if you'd like to see more of my adventure then feel free to follow.
