HELLY
Prologue
All was quiet that night, the earth slept snuggled up under the white blanket of snow, icicles formed on the branches of trees, the usual noises of animal that could be heard coming from the woods were no more heard, nature seemed to had gone to sleep along with its inhabitants. The silent air was then penetrated by a portal, and from that portal stepped a woman, no, she wasn't, for thou she had the posture of a woman, those pointed ears, those marine blue wings, those sparkling eyes that glittered like the finest sapphire surely meant she was a fairy, in her arms she bore a baby, a fairy baby, this she dropped in front of a house and left.
The Peterson had been unable to bear fruit for five years, Cara was getting depressed and discouraged, her husband was being incredibly patient and understanding but she longed for a child of her own, a child which she could feast her eyes on, someone she could boast of housing and nurturing in her womb for 9 months. This had often given her sleepless nights and this night was one of those times, Cara had awoken by 3:00am, two hours after the fairy lady left, she didn't feel like going back to sleep, very quietly, so not to wake her sleeping husband who lay beside her, she got out of bed and put her flip-flops on, she headed to the kitchen to make a hot cocoa, a few minutes later she was in a super warm winter coat and was headed outside unaware of the not asked for delivery, imaging her face when she saw the baby wrapped up in that mossy blanket, slightly blue from cold, she picked it up and held her, she looked around for any sign of anyone but there was none, the baby stirred and gave a weak cry
'Rick?' Cara said going back into the house
