Grayling is a general term for prolonged growth, arising on ceilings and underground floors. As a rule, it can have various shapes (icicle, columnar, star-shaped, etc.).

It is most commonly found in karst caves, where it is made of calcite, called sintem. It is formed by the back condensation of the dissolved limestone.
