More Ants or Humans?

I realize that there are more ants than people on our planet, but how many more are there? Ten times more? A hundred times more? A thousand times more? Or more?

Many scientists have already been involved in making an estimate of the number of ants on Earth. And what do you think, the estimated numbers vary enormously. In a lot of literature the estimates are followed by a certain Wilson, the man is a biologist and myrmecologist (ant expert) who is very highly regarded in the scientific world. He says that there are 1.6 million ants for every human being on earth, so this is quite a lot. Mr. Wilson goes even further and claims that the total weight of ants is about the same as the total weight of people living on our planet. Other researchers have different numbers, some less, others more, the fact is that there are a huge number of ants on our planet.

Facts about The Ants

1. Ants sacrifice themselves
Would you give your life for a completely random person? Most likely not, because people are not like that. But ants do. The 'Forelius pusillus' ant buries its colony every night to protect it from enemies. The ants working on the outside sacrifice themselves and die.

2. Ants are born with a life task Ants do not need to study first to find out what they want to do and what they want to achieve in life. They know from birth what their life task will be. For example, an ant that goes into the army is born with a harder shield.

3. Ants can live in any environment.
People can not do this. The 'Sahara Silver' ant is one of the largest heat-carrying animals on earth. Another ant, the 'Polyrhachis Sokolova', can live under water.

4. Ants are excellent farmers.
'Leafcutter' ants harvest more green in the South American forests than any other animal. They employ about ten million employees.

5. Ants can get along well
Ants can work well together.
In 'disagreements' about food or territory they can solve this without bloodshed.

6. Ants are there in huge numbers. It is estimated that the weight of all ants in the world is equal to or greater than the total biomass of all humanity.

7. Ants are smart.
Ants are able to teach other ants something. Ants are smart, inventive, able to adapt, are patriotic and have billions.
So why have not they attacked us yet?
