Seclusion Forestalls Exploitation

Hi Steemians,

For this article, I would take my country as an example. The Philippines is an archipelago consisting of 7,641 islands situated in Southeast Asia. With that number of islands and our geographical feature, we are home to tens of thousands of tourist spots - explored or not; chartered or unchartered.

COMFORT

We have a wide array of spots in all corners of the country. This country offers pristine beaches, majestic waterfalls, long sandbars, virgin islands, colorful reefs, awe-inspiring sunrise and sunset spots, glorious mountains and cliffs, crystal-clear lagoons, enchanting rivers and pools, mysterious caves, magical forests and many more. I could really go on with the list.

The tourism industry in our country is really a booming one. Our weather pattern is a path to relaxation. We are known to the world as one of the most hospitable kind. Our products and services are cheap. We value customer relationship and interaction. Tourists from all over the world are really enticed to explore and enjoy the convenience our country has to offer.

This is Kalanggaman Island. This is becoming famous already not just to the local tourists but also foreign. Last time I was there, it was still magnificent. I hope this place will not be over-exploited due to its discovery and development.

DISCOMFORT

With the discovery and exploration of these spots, come the consequences. This led to the exploitation of not just the resources but the place itself. Sometimes, we just wish that they were not discovered in the first place. Tourists flooding the area and destroying its natural wonder.

I can name many examples. We have Boracay Island and Siargao. They were all great places to visit. They still are but you wouldn't feel the complete island experience anymore. There is really the influence of convenience.

Hopefully, undiscovered spots are just to be enjoyed by a few and the natives as well. This is to preserve its beauty and prevent damage to that area.

...do you agree?...

Oh my gheeee. That Kalanggaman island is breathtaking. How much will it cost to dive in there? Lol. Lovely... but yes places like this are abused after few years of discovery. Sad but true.

You got the adjective perfectly. It will indeed take your breath away. It is not costly to visit that place.

I do agree with this with a very heavy heart. Sometimes I wish people will not post photos of beautiful place anymore to avoid overpopulation. Good thing the palompon LGU is handling the tourism in kalanggaman well.

I hope it stays that way. Unless a corporate pig again wants to take control and transform the place into a beach amusement park.

I Couldn't agree more.

Thank you for siding with my advocacy.

My sincerest gratitude for this opportunity. I do admit I'm not big on formatting.

Interesting places that will surely attract more tourist in the country..great article @ luigienius.:)

Thank you. The thought of the article though is not to attract more tourists but to keep the virgin spots as is.

I agree! Nakakaiyak nalang yung mga pangyayari sa mga isla natin.

It is true. I hope other places and islands remain as it were.

I hate crowded areas when it comes to beaches. I always look for a quiet place to relax and enjoy the sun. Still keeping my eyes on those undiscovered places. Cheers.

There are still a lot. Hopefully they remain in secret or known only to a few.
