Invasive species yearly phenomenon

in nature •  7 years ago

Each year this time of year if the rains have been good the flowers emerge seemingly out of nowhere alongside the road.

They can emerge pretty much anywhere where the ground has been disturbed.

Below is a farmers plowed field that has been taken over by this alien invasive plant.

Another even larger expanse stretching off into the distance.

A close up of the individual flowers.

It's called cosmos by the locals and originates from Argentina.

Beautiful aliens though

Really beautiful flowers and pictures!

cool and lovely flowers
the smell and sight of flowers makes me happy.
nice shots.

There is an opinion that if you admire the flowers, inhale their aroma, talk with them, they give you a part of their vitality.

Is beautiful! They give a very beautiful color. Here in Venezuela you can buy in the store a similar one. But you have to pay it!

Is it a pest, in the sense that it interferes with crop growth? Is it easily removed, or no?

The phenomenon, despising the fact that many of these species destroy other native people, is very colorful and beautiful, the photographs are great, in Venezuela we have something similar to that, they call them "rich ruin"

Cosmea!! Love it

So where are you? Its an alien weed invasion in which country?
