BIRDS NEST

Osprey's nest on lone light pole at Short Beach, parking lot. Town made a platform on the top of the pole for the birds to build their nest. They specifically used a tall pole and only one pole. One tall pole lets the nesting pair have sole occupation of their territory from other birds.

The mating pair of Ospreys fly south for the winter but come back to the same nest every year. You can see by the height of the nest it has been made bigger over the years. It looks twice as bigger as an average one.
