Birds Galore

Watch this video I got of so many birds you can't even count them all. This was shot at The Celery Fields in Sarasota, Florida. Sometimes when the water levels in the ponds are a certain depth, it presents a great feeding opportunity for the birds. They can get at the fish much more easily and the birds come from all over the county to get in on the action. You can see it was a little foggy the morning I took this video. It is always amazing to see this many birds together in one place. They all seem to get along pretty well, I guess when there is plenty of food, so there aren't many arguments for territory.  I will post some pictures below of the different kinds of birds for a better look at what kind were at this feeding frenzy at The Celery Fields.

Many of the birds were Little Blue Herons.

Birds that look similar to the Little Blue Herons were the Tricolored Herons. You can easily tell them apart from the white underparts of the Tricolored Heron.

It was strange that there weren't any White Ibis that I could see.

There were lots of Glossy Ibis in there though.

There were many Great Egrets, the tall white ones.

There were some Greater and Lesser Yellowlegs there.

There was a very cool duck at one point. Did you see it? Can you name it?
